This is the card of teamwork. It’s labor, but with great results. Gaps or blind spots in skills and experience are filled in as everyone pulls together to make the thing happen. Prioritizing the project over ego, being willing to listen and compromise, and being open to new ideas makes success. Hidden talents or latent skills make themselves known.

Who can I learn from, and what can they teach me? In what areas of my life do I need to work with others to achieve something? How can I be a better collaborator?

Despite what the cult of rugged individualism says, we work better when we work together. It’s a chance to let your strengths shine, to learn from others, and the bolster the sense of community that we need to survive.

Of course, not everyone is good at collaborating, but you can lead by example and show them how it’s done. If they’re not ready to learn (or share) (or take responsibility) (or prioritize the goal over their ego), the other folks in your team will step up. It’s not fair, but as long as the end result is met, you succeeded, right?
