August Recap

On the Blog

Phew! That’s a lot.

In My Life

Despite constantly cutting my tarot deck on the Ace of Cups (what’s with that, anyway?!), I drew the 9 of Wands and The Tower repeatedly this month in my daily card meditation. That’s a focus on fatigue, persistence, trials & tribulations, and a sundering of something foundational in your life.

Work has slowed way down, allowing me opportunity to take stock of things (and apply to some jobs). I’m truly grateful for the situation I have, even though parts of it break my heart, so I’ve been trying to acknowledge that daily.

I read, and loved, the fascinating book on the science of pain, Tell Me Where it Hurts by Dr. Rachel Zoffness. I’m currently reading Modern Lich by Oru Manna, a friend of mine whose writing I’ll always support.

I also made some progress with my knitting and crochet projects, and I’m hoping to learn Portugese Neck Knitting. I have legit terrible knitting form.

Oh, and it’s my birthday month! I was treated to a showing of The Taming of The Shrew at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, some very nice wine, and the company of good friends. Not a bad way to usher in middle age

Next Month…

I’m gonna start diving into the sordid history of tarot, plus picking apart the “good” and “bad” cards to get in a spread. Stay tuned!
